ReportReport
Posted on by

Hey guys,

What I want to do is to send to user a custom report as attachment in email every friday.

Is this even possible?

I read something and I think this could be possible via plugins, but is it? Or is there a better solution?

Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

You can do it via set up in SSRS report server. You just created a snapshot of report and schedule to send email.

    Please check this link www.mssqltips.com/.../working-with-report-snapshots-in-sql-server-reporting-services-ssrs

    www.databasejournal.com/.../report-snapshots-in-ssrs-2008-r2.html

    Regards,

    Hi,

    I followed this: www.powerobjects.com/.../report-scheduling-and-email-subscription-in-crm-2011

and created a snapshot of my report. The thing is, I don't have "CustomReports" folder on my ReportServer.

    Any ideas?

    Hi,

    Use Dynamic docs

    dynamicsobjects.com/.../Dynamics-Docs

to create the reports using MS Word templates,

    OR

if you are using CRM 2016 use Word templates , and schedule the email using Dynamics PDF-Docs add-on

    dynamicsobjects.com/.../Dynamics-PDF-Docs

I would suggest against using Dynamic Objects - purchased and used them, but had to remove them because the Forms load times a slowed down dramatically - we lost loads of time trying to investiage the poor CRM performance until we realised it was this.

Also - this is the single most important missing feature from CRM/365. How a user can not email a report in 1 click is a massive omission. for example try and email a Quote to a user in CRM and you will see what I mean.

On- Premise has OTB feature to Schedule Report.

For Online , You can rely on third party tools.

if you don't want to use Third party tools you can use below approach:-

Write a service which will execute your report  and will send report as email to your client.

Scheduling here is calling the web service method on weekly basis from client side.

if you find a better solution let me know as well.
