import of excel data to RMS

I am creating an import (using RR import tool technician edition) for a brand new install,  the items are books where the titles are almost always longer then the 30 characters RMS allows for the description.  I have desided that I will do the following, but it has problems too.  I plan to import the extended description that is long and has HTML coding into the notes field and use the extended description for the real description.  Problem I see is the search tool (f2) will always be empty enless I set it to always use find feature and the receipt might fight this too.  Can I not use the desciption field all together?  It behooves me that the description field is required to be only 30 characters and that has always been the one complaint that every client has for me.  What does every one else do to by pass the 30 characters?
