No there is no limit on number of records, as long as you have enough storage you can create as many as you want.

Is there any particular reason as to why you wanted to know the max limit

No quantifyable limit unless you are using a trial or preview feature.   Or the Light version

Thanks, what is the best way to assign a unique Code of ID to each contact when the record is first created ?

You can create an auto-numbering or use their phone number or something already put in the system.   That is really a design thing that you need to decide what is best.

Thanks for the feedbacks, can D365 be configured to capture and store Biometric type data (finger print, retina scan, etc.)?

When do you want to use the Biometric? is it for logging into CRM or other purposes?

When a contact record is created in CRM, the individual will be scanned for registration, they will be there in person.

Its an interesting challenge you have .  In CRM you can only store files as attachment to notes or email. Personally i do not think you could use this crm attachment features for storing sensitive biometric data.

You could definitely store biometric data in an encrypted way in fields in CRM and secure the field and record with Field Security profile and security roles.

You might want to look into how you could use Azure for securre storage

If you want to know how you could store fingerprint for example, please the link below just as an example
