Lookup - automatic links newly created object

Hi everyone,

I'm facing a little issue with dynamics 365.

I have a custom entity (CE) form with a Contact lookup.

When I click on the lookup new button, it opens the contact form. But after saving my new Contact, this one is not automatically linked to my initial CE.

Is there a configuration to enable to make this possible?

Cheers  !

    Hi Partner,

Do you mean the new contact you created did not link to your initial custom record? The contact field on your custom entity form did not contain data after you created new contact?

If so, please check if there is any custom JS code, business rules, workflow or plug-in in your custom entity.

Could you share more steps and screenshots for more detail about your issue?

    Regards,

    Leo

    Hi Leo,

    Thanks for your time.

Let me describe the steps more precisely.

First on my Custom Entity form, I have a lookup field to link a contact (renamed Person)

I clicked on New Person. It redirect me to the Person form.

After filling the mandatory fields, I save and close the contact.

And I'm redirecting to my custom entity form and the newly created Person is not automatically set on the lookup field.

    Is that clearer ?

I checked the customJS, Business Rules and so on, It doesn't seem that any of them affect this field.

Thanks again for your time !

    Hi partner,

    Thanks for your kindly details.

I'm clear with your situation now.

1.Please check if you could find the new contacts you created in before test in the look up view.

2.Please check if you've chosen the special view for look up field.

3.Create another contact lookup field and try again.

    Best Regards,

    Hi !

    Thanks for the time !

    To answer your questions:

    1. The Contact created can be found in the lookup then.

2.3. I tried to create a new lookup called LookupTest field on my custom entity form. In my new lookup properties, in the related Records filtering, I can't find my field in the first list and there is no Current Record in the second list. Did I miss something ? (in the picture below, Person is just the renamed Contact entity)

I saw that it is working well using a quick create form but I need my big form as it is now.

    Thanks

    Regards
