eConnect Services trying to connect

Once eConnect is installed - where in the interface can a user go to change the eConnect user account password?

I have a client who installed eConnect some time ago - never used it. However, must have done something wrong because the server windows event log file became quite large with lots of entries where the eConnect incoming and outgoing services is trying to connect to SQL server and not being able to connect. These requests are happening every 2 or 3 seconds and the log is growing.

Any suggestions where to start the troubleshooting process?

    Bron,

    First you check eConnect incoming and outgoing Config file and check DataSource information for GP 9.0 Config files are in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Great Plains\eConnect9\Services and GP 10 it's in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared. Change both incomign and outgoing Config file with proper data source.

    If your eCOnnect installation userid password changed than

    1)  goto-->Control Panel-->Administrative Tools-->Componenet Service-->Computers-->My Computer --->eConnect 9 for Great Plains right click for properties -->Identity changed password.

    2)   In Service --For eConnect incoming and outgoing-->properties-->Logon changed password.

    Hope above information will help you to resolve your issue.

    Thanks
    Sandip

    Thank you very much you are always very helpful.

    I think we got it fixed but not as you described. eConnect was installed on a terminal server. I looked for the conf files and did not find them. There was a services folder but no config file? Maybe it's a hidden file or something requiring changing options.........

    I went into SQL - found eConnect user ID - verified mapping and roles and changed password to a known password.

    I went back to the terminal server and set a connection string via the eConnect Release information screen - after setting the connection string - the failed login attempts ceased and we're okay.

    I assume by using the 'set connection string' I was overriding the configuration file settings with valid information.Thanks again - this forum and all the folks who give generously is really terrific.

    Have a great day...........
