Can't cancell a MO

Is there anyway to cancel a quick manufacturing order that has been tied up in the system for a long period of time.  When I go to edit MO status to change from released to cancelled it does not appear as one of the manufacturing order numbers that are available to edit the status.  When I try to open the manufacturing order itself from a quick MO view, I get a screen that says that inventory activity exists and cannot view it. To me this means that there are unposted batches someplace but when I open up inventory batches there is nothing.  ANy help?
