Is there a way that we can restrict options for users to choose what they want to synchronize with CRM (through the outlook component). Currently anyone can select options and select to synchronize email, tasks, calender etc.

We want to restrict some options.

Unfortunately, there is no feature of CRM 4.0 for Outlook which lets administrator control or restrict which types of records a user can synchronise. All that's available is the 'Sync to Outlook' privilege in the security roles.
