AR Smartlist does not age correctly

Hi GP community members,

Could you please advise me on why the aging buckets summarize the total per customer and not by document number?

I would like to build a smartlist with 7 aging buckets using Smartlist builder but don't have the code to put in the calculation. If you have it please advise.

Thank you so much.

    Hi Nhi,

I have a SmartList builder .xml file that presents an aging based on document date. I can't recall how many columns it shows, but you can easily change the formulas to get what you want. I have both summary and detail. I have one for payables too.

If you want the .xml file to import into your system, you'll need to send me an e-mail because I will not be monitoring this post. My email address is leslievail@earthlink.net

I cannot see the screenshot, it's tiny, so I really don't know what results you got on your SmartList.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Thank you so much for sending me your file. But we age by due date, so we have to change to age by document date in order to use your smartlist?

    Hi Leslie,

I imported the file but it does not show up in the smartlist. What step am I missing?

    Hi Nhi,

Yes, you would need to change the formula that determined which bucket it fell in from the document date to the due date. Right now it compares today's date with the document date. Just change the document date to the due date. You can see the formula, so you should be able to modify it to make the bucket ages work for you and change which date it looks at.

After you import it and go through the 'SmartList has detected changes . . ' routine, it will show up in the Company folder, not the sales folder. You can change that in SmartList Builder.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
