Workflow User Group - Two Approvers with an exception

I have yet another BC question regarding Workflow Approval Groups.  I have a case where we have two journal approvers at the same level.  Each are set to 1.  As such when a journal is entered by a third party, either one should be able to approve and have the process move forward.
 
Now for the exception.  If the the first person in the approval group also enters a journal, their entry should be automatically approved, however if the 2nd person in the approval group enters a journal, the first person should have to approve.  Does that make sense and is there a way to configure that?
 
Please advise.  Look forward to a response.

    I don't think you can have it both ways. If the approver submits an entry, it will auto-approve. You can achieve this through customization by adding another field to the workflow group or something similar for verification.

    As far as i know, the standard setup does not directly support an exception like this, so a customization or creative workflow design will be needed.

    Hello,
     
    If Both the Approver has Set the Priority as 1 then System will consider Equal Importance of Both the Approvers. because if any of the 1 Approver approves the record then it will be proceed further.
     
    So as per your requirement, customization is required.
