Generate POs automatically based on reorder information?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone, I was wondering if RMS has a way to generate POs automatically based on item reorder levels. Specifically, I'd like to set it up to automatically generate a PO for a supplier when x number of items that they supply fall to or below their reorder level. For instance, say I receive 50 items from a supplier ACME. When at least 10 of those items are at or below their reorder number, I'd like RMS to automatically generate an ACME PO. Is this possible?

If an inventory item has Restock Levels and Reorder Points setup then purchase orders can be created based on this information in the Create New Purchase Orders part of RMS Manager. Please advise if you need training on this.

I don't think there is any in-built feature in RMS for this. However, this can be achieved by writing some custom components (hooks or database triggers) to achieve this.
