Hi Guys,
Does it means that CSU(Self-Hosted) is needed for on-prem environment although I always run POS under offline mode?

It is up to your requirements whether you need on-prem CSU or not - speaking of POS in offline mode - it can work with both types of the CSU - Cloud as well as On-prem deployed.

    Hi SurgeyP,

Thus you means either CSU self-hosted or cloud is needed for POS, right? From the pic below, the 2nd topology show like I can use POS without CSU! kindly correct me if I misunderstanding.

You require CSU, either self-hosted or cloud if you want to use POS.  POS cannot talk to Dynamics 365 F&O directly.
