MSD 365 Web Portal - Employee Self Service Portal - Can we check where exactly we are getting " The form could not be submitted for the following reasons: You don't have the appropriate permissions." error?

Hi All,
I was trying to edit few permissions on Employee Self Service Portal. After doing those changes , it started giving me below error while creating or update case records.

The form could not be submitted for the following reasons:
You don't have the appropriate permissions.

Is there any way to check , why exactly we are getting this error ?

I know I'm getting error because I have set some permissions which are not allowing me to save or update the record . But I want to check , for which entity this is occuring ? I don't want to revisit all the permissions and revert it back to one by one.

As like we debug code and we get the issue pointer ,where exactly it is breaking. I need the same thing here.

I hope you have understood my question.

you can't debug on the online portals

you are probably getting this error coming from a web page, which web page is that ? check in your URL !

now navigate to your Web Page and see if it is tied to any Web Form / Entity Form.. then navigate to those records and see the entity related

Thanks for you quick response Oliver.

I'm getting this error on Case Create and Case Edit Web Page .  Respective entity forms are tied with those web pages.

Getting error when I'm changing "Customer Service - Cases where contact is customer" entity permission scope to Global , but when I'm keeping scope to CONTACT  level it is working fine. Entity permissions are enabled on all Entity Forms and Entity List"

Any quick help would really be appreciated.

it is more common to set the entity permission scope to CONTACT than GLOBAL.. are you sure you want Global there ?

another thing to try.. is there any lookup you are setting in the case record ? make sure you have set Append and Append To in your permissions !

make sure also you attach your Web Role in your permission, otherwise it won't take effect for the current user

I'm setting permissions to global level because of following reasons ,

1.If we set case permissions to CONTACT level and search cases through global search available in Portal , the count of  cases search is not matching with the count given in faceted view

    -  for ex: If I've 5 cases created by me and we search cases in global search , all the cases available in the system (lets say 5 created by me and 2 is created by other user contact ) is getting retrieved but only the cases created by that contact is shown in result [ where as count is shown as 7 ] (Which is confusing for user) . PFA snapshot for better understanding.

2.If we set case permissions to GLOBAL level and search cases through global search available in Portal , the count of  cases search is perfectly matching with the count given in faceted view (which is ok as count of cases and retrieve cases are same )

    - But here I cannot edit my own cases ( for ex: All 5 cases created by me )

I checked all other permission and child permission. I've checked web roles assigned to permission. But not able to get exact cause of issue...:(

it's ok if your requirement is to let everyone see someone else's case record.. I just think it is not that common

can you share a snapshot of the case creation on the page you're getting the error ? did you check the append/append to permissions ?

You need to grant permissions to all lookups on case from, not only Account, Contact, but Subject and any related entties. I resolved this error by granting permission for Subject entity in my CRM system
