Automated removal of inactive users

In active directory there is an option on the user account to allow for expiration of the user account, while the user is not able to login the account is not disabled or deleted but can be if required.

How can an inactive user account be set to expire automatically disabled or removed from the Dynamics GP application by the setting of an expiration date for the user.

Thanks

    You can mark a user as inactive in Great Plain.  Deleting a user in Great Plains should not be done.

    There is not an automatic way to disable the System Administrator needs to mark the user as inactive.

    GP does not have a built in way to inactivate a user account by setting it to expire automatically and be disabled or removed with an expiration date for the user.

    I would suggest that this would be a customization. It could be done by creating a table to hold user reference and expiration information and a stored procedure that runs regularly with a job to remove that user from the appropriate GP table(s). There would still be an associated SQL user that would also need to be addressed as part of the customization.

    Hi Karyln,

    Additional to Michael, need to validate the Posting process. this can be done through custom store procedure & schedule it to inactivate the GP login users.

    Michael suggested a good idea.

    Nataraj, what validation do we need to check in the posting process?

    Your reply is much appreciated.

    @Soma,

    Before inactivating the user we need to check the posting process is running for the particular user.

    @Nataraj,

    Yes. This is one of the main concern for inactive/remove users from stored procedure. I thought, you may have any other points rather than this point. Anyway, thanks for your quick update.

    I am in GP 2015 and need make a user inactive. I notice that we have other users that are inactive but I an not sure how to proceed. When I go to administration and system user etc I do not see that option.
