Having to Type the Consumption Amounts

Hi:

I have Backward Flushing specified throughout and specific quantities for each component item on the Production Bill of Material (BOM).

Why are these quantities not displaying automatically in the Production Journal of the Released Production Order for this BOM?

I'm having to manually type these quantities into the Production Journal.  That shouldn't be.

Thanks!

John

    Thank you, Manan!

I just ran some tests, and you are 100% correct!

Thank you, again, for helping me understand this!!!

    Hi John,

As per my testing I understand it's due Backward Flushing Method it's not flow the Quantity on Production journal, And Once you change the Production Order status as per Output qty. taken system will auto post required consumption.

    Many Thanks,

    Manan

But, my Manufacturing Setup window shows "Expected Quantity" for Preset Output Quantity.

How does that change your answer?  :)

    Hi John,

    Thanks for Screenshot.

As per my testing on Manufacturing setup page "Preset Output Quantity" define as "Zero". so system will not show output quantity on Production Journal and due to that the Component which have flushing method as Backward on those lines you can't see Quantity.

    Hope this will help.

    Hi There:

Below are screenshots.  The Released Production Order and its Production Journal have not been processed, yet.

I wanted to send these screenshots, first.

The production journal has 0 for components, 0 for output, and capacity is blank.  (Someone told me, though, that the blank capacity is because of the backward flushing, as capacity will not post until the released production order is changed to Finished status.)

    Hi John,

    This is strange issue.

If you refresh Production order so system will calculate it's Components qty, and base on that system will show you Routing & Components with Qty.

Can you please share Production Journal Screenshot with you Production Bom screen shot.

    Many Thanks,
    Manan

    No, I see lines there.

But when I go to the released production order's Production Journal, I do not see quantities of the components, quantities of output, or capacity times.

Is this all because of backward flushing?  If so, are the amounts "there" and the journal simply gives an opportunity to put in "more" or decrease the amounts?

    Thanks John

That is strange. Do you mean when you create and refresh production order then go to component lines you do not see any QTY there? Can you please post screenshot from both production order page and also component lines?

    1) What is the flushing method for components (in item card).  Backward.

Also, what is their replenishment method (Purchase, production, etc). Purchase for raw materials, production for the finished good

    2) What is the flushing method for finished item? Backward  Also, does item has routing?  Yes

    3) Did you Certified your BOM?  Yes

    4) When you Refresh Production Order do you have the following settings on?  Yes
