Changing Report Layout on Drop Ship function

Our Purchase orders have a standard Word Layout

When a Sales Order is created and Drop Shipment Option is selected, I would like a slightly different layout to pop up for Purchase Order Report. I would still like to retain the older report for the Purchase Order without a drop shipment.

I am not familiar with Event triggers. Would be grateful for any ideas. The drop shipment function in the Sales Order Line is a Checkbox

and in the Purchase Order Page ->Actions->Drop Shipment->Get Sales Order

    Do you want to only make modifications to the layout of the standard report or do you want to change it to a completely different report?

    Here are doc for modifying your word layout:

    Also remember that you can configure reports in report selection sales and report selection purchase.

    Hi Mr.Inge,

       Thanks for the answer. I only need to change the report layout a teeny tiny bit when the sales order is marked for drop shipment or else I want to display the older report. I am sure this is event management from some trigger or action. Not sure how to go about it

    If you want the layout to change automatically depending on the drop shipping or standard order then you need to do some development. If you think it is ok for the user to select the layout they need then you can wait until version 21. Then the user can select layout during print.

    Do you write AL code yourself or do you have a programmer available ?

    Then you need to start by creating a copy of the report you want to modify and put the copy in the 50000 object range.

    Modify the word layout for your new report.

    Then you can try to use the event i have highlighted if you are printing purchase document:

    This answer started me in the path to fix it. I had to use Event Recorder to record all the events and then filter it to the event that could have happened.
