Hi,

when I switch language for non base I'm unable to add new product, new family, bundle. Simply there is none of those buttons on the ribbon.

Any ideas?

It's how the system works I'm afraid.

You are expected to add new records in the base language, and then you add the localizable attribute data / translations.

Records with localized attributes are read-only unless your preferred language is the organization’s base language. You can only create records with localized property values using the organization’s base language.

    By way of background reading:

This is how Microsoft see it:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn817861.aspx

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../dn817861.aspx

    www.microsoft.com/.../translate-product-names-and-properties-into-multiple-languages.aspx

A product can only have properties/attributes if it is linked to a family hierarchy. If it is not, it can not have attributes/properties and the ‘+’ icon will be unavailable.

You can edit the products individual properties/attributes, just like in object oriented programming however, an objects attributes themselves can not change, they are defined at the class level, meaning you can not add or take away attributes of the product level.

Whilst you cannot edit the number of properties a product inherits, but you can edit its settings and default value. By overriding the property you can essentially change the name and basically everything except the data type of the field. You do get a reminder about which base type this inherits from, so there is always traceability

These are some additional really long blogs but have some really good content:
