Multiple Packing locations

We are undertaking a D365 warehouse project and have a few packing locations spread around the warehouse. We believed some logic would exist around the number of parcels or similar in order to send pickers to pack location 1, versus pack location 2. Has anyone had experiences like this one?

we are being told we maybe able to send parcels to locations based on carrier, customer or something on the sales order. But not on the number of items to be packed. The later being explained as possible with limits on each location but this could lead to all locations being above that limit when the work is created. As when have 5 total locations and the work created could easily be higher than any limit we’d place e.g. 100 boxes per location. Ideally I’d like the location with the lowest stock to be selected each time. But I am told this logic is not common or possible.

Anyone had experience with a scenario like this. Any workarounds or solutions?

Multiple Packing locations

Hi,

As far as I know, there is no such standard feature to decide which location to send based on the number of parcels. You can use code customization to achieve this functionality.
