Performance difference between Standard SSD vs Premium SSD for D365 Commerce Development Environment

Hello,

I'm trying to get pricing for Cloud hosted Development VM on Azure. There are 3 options on Azure Pricing calculator when it comes to storage: HDD, Standard SSD, Premium SSD.

We will have decent amount of customizations. Shall I go for Premium SSD or Standard SSD. There will be lot of build and compilation in phase 2 gap phase but the transactions will be standard retail size, not extra large.

Also, how many cores and RAM is recommended for Commerce customizations. Will 8 Cores and 64GB give high performance? Or it can be even little bit lower as well without affecting performance (build time, general system speed, etc.) ?

    Hi,

    Yes, Premium SSD will provide the better performance.

    You can go to the Azure portal to check how many cores and RAM for your VM. Like this:
