RE: Multi select options in mscrm

    Hi

An option set would allow you to add loads of item, the limit is only on SQL Integer type which is: 2,147,483,647

Multi-Select only differs in how the values are stored with the record.  When you select options on a multi-select option set, the labels are stored as the semicolon (;) separated list on the record.  The limit here would be about how many characters you can store in a string field in CRM. That is 2GB of characters.  This 2GB limit for selected options labels. I do not think you will ever hit this limit.

In short, I don't think you have to worry about Option list max or Multi-Select option set max values selectable. You will only hit the limits in an extremely rare situation.

I have just run a script to create an option set and managed to create more than 1K items.

About the other two questions, Could you please move them to separate questions/threads as that will help other users in the community to easily find solutions.

    Hi

    1. There is technically no upper limit on the number of options that can be defined. Usability considerations should be applied as the limiting factor. However only 150 options can be selected for a single attribute. Also, a default value cannot be set.

    More details : docs.microsoft.com/.../multi-select-picklist

    2. I dont think VS2008 is supported with D365, you have to use a higher version 2015, 2017.

    Hope this helps,
