Hello-
We use Dynamics in a manufacturing environment.
I want to build part of a released production order and consume the utilized components, but leave the order open to complete the build at a later time. Example: production order is for quantity 20, and we built 5 today, and will complete the rest in 2 weeks.
It seems that the consumed items would be in a WIP state, which would be fine.
We are not currently consuming during picking; we typically backwards flush when the production order is complete.
Is this possible? What would be the steps?

Yes, it should be possible. Just make sure when you start or RAF the order picking list journal is set to Never. This will ensure that system doesn't generate and post picking list journal that is used to consume BOM components. Alternatively, you can generate picking list but leave Post picking list now unchecked.
If you are using SFC terminals to update production order, then do the same on Start, Operations and Report as finished tabs in Production order defaults form.
