Got error when posting Sales Journal with General Journal Batch Approval Workflow

Hello everyone,

We got error /You cannot use Gen. Journal Line: SALES,DEFAULT,10000 for this action. The restriction was imposed because the journal batch requires approval./ when posting Sales Journal.

Before creating the Sales Journal, I enabled the workflow with the SALES template, please kindly see my testing step below:

1. Create General Journal Batch Approval Workflow from standard workflow template in Business Central.

2. Create Sales Journal line and post, an error occurred.

We do not have a request approval button in Sales Journal page, how can the journal be approved? Why we got this error? Could you please share me some insights about how to post the sales journal without getting the error?

Seems on the Workflow You create the approval request, so You don't need a button to request. Have You checked if the Approval request was generated? It is kinda weird that on the last step of workflow You delegate the approval request... last step should be removal of Record restriction.

Have you tried to cancel the approval request?

And see if the request button shows up again then?
