Users with second email address need a separate license to use Set Regarding?

Some of our users have a second email address configured in Outlook used for emails sent to their team distribution list.  Does anyone know if that email account needs it's own CRM license in order to have to use the Set Regarding feature while viewing an email sent to that email address or sending from that email address?

Thank you.

You can configure the Queue with distribution email and setup a forwarded mail box for receiving the emails to distribution in the CRM. and setting regarding the distribution mail id can be done in the CRM.

But if you wanted to use it with outlook then it would required the license and need to create a user in CRM.

    Hi Jenny,

The synchronization of Outlook Client allows only one synchronizing email account per CRM user.

Check this workaround and see if it works for you:

Manage Dynamics CRM with Multiple Synchronized Email Accounts

Thank you for the reply.  Do you know if we get the license for the email account, will we need the Full professional license?  Also, will multiple people be able to have that email account configured in their outlook and be able to track to CRM?

    Thank you!

    Hi Jenny,

To use Outlook Client, Professional, Basic or Essential licenses should work. But there are some differences between them related to other CRM features, so I recommend to review this document so you can decide the best option for you:
