How do MR licenses work?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have a 3 user BRL AM SL license, recently upgraded from SL 7 to SL 2015.  Had to move from FRx to MR.  Is MR named users?  With FRx I could load FRx on 5 workstations but only use it 3 at a time.  MR will not let me do that.

Thanks John – I did a little more research.  The Domain Authentication tied to the named user is making is difficult for us to be on the system during the day to support the customer and not tie up a user.  We will just have to ask them for a password we can use in the evening when they do not have three people in the system.

Hi Michael, what kind of error is MR giving you? The MR licensing will have X number of Admin/Designer users and X number of Generator/Viewer licenses. The Users and their roles (A/D or G/V) do have to be "named" in MR, but you should still be able to install the MR client on any number of workstations.
