I marked a field unsearchable as I didn't want it to show up in the Advanced Find. However the column for this field still shows up.
Is there a way to stop that?

I made a field unsearchable. It does not show up when filtering in the Advanced Find, But it does show up as a column. Is this by design?
Yes, I believe it's by design. I don't think you can remove fields from the list of available to pick columns.

Yes, its by design, you can't hide the field from selection while creating view
