Job Queue with a user with MFA

Hi guys,

do you know whether it is possible to run job queues with a user with MFA (multi factor authentification) enabled without having the user to perform MFA when job query is executed?

We're running BC 20.4 in the cloud and have a job which is automatically sending e-Mails once a day.

The Job queue is started from a user with specific rights, which also determins "the context" of the Job.

Without MFA, everything is running smoothly - as soon as we switch on MFA then we get a message like this.

The entries on microsoft side Job Queue - Business Central | Microsoft Docs here are not very extensive.

Did anybody have similar issues with job queues and Multi Factor?

What could we do to get that working?

    For others having the same problem the following hint:

    The problem only appeared in the following constellation:

    job queue has been set to status "ready"

    then user has been switched to MFA - job queue was not "touched"

    then the errors appeared

    Solution - 

    after changing the user to MFA the job queue had to be put to status "wait" and then back to "ready" with the user with MFA logged in again.

    Then it worked. So the conclusion would be, that the job queue has to be set to ready with the user with MFA enabled and the problem was the change of authentification method whilst having the job queue on status ready.

    Thanks a lot - I will further narrow down the problem and contact MSFT support.

    It seems like the job queue actually executed however the E-Mail Functionality then raised the MFA error.

    Hello,

    Interesting, could you please raise this to Microsoft support via your partner or CSP. We may ask you for a repro in standard CRONUS company. When raising any type of support request for Dynamics 365 Business Central, please supply the following details:

    1. tenant ID

    2. company name

    3. environment name

    4. time in UTC when issue happened

    5. since when do you have this issue

    6. sandbox or production

    E.g.: businesscentral.dynamics.com/.../

    or

    businesscentral.dynamics.com/.../

    Etc.
