How do I find a driver for the Verifone 1000se pinpad

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to set up my Verifone 1000se pinpad.  It has a USB port, how do I change from com1 to point to USB in RMS 2.0?  Do you know where I can find a driver for the device?

Thanks in advance.

    Hello John,

There is a KB in customer source regarding this issue.

    mbs2.microsoft.com/.../kbdisplay.aspx

It goes to say  that "Preferred Acquirer must "inject" all the PIN pads"

    Thank you, Nicole

Does your PIN Pad have a power cable? If not, it will not likely work, because though it is USB, it is actually underpowered and only designed to work with a terminal machine. If you get it working, I'd love to know how because we were never able to.

    Hello John,

    Thank you for your question.

We reccomend using the serial port version of the Pin Pad 1000SE. The USB model is not supported.

You may be able to get the USB drivers from your partner or directly from Verifone.

    John,

    We only use USB.

The driver can be found on the Verifone website here http://www.verifone.com/usbdriver  bottom right under the USB driver and you want the Vx/PP1000SE/QX... one

The installation instructions are contained in the download but are a little shaky.  We just copy the .msi file to the C:\, | open a command prompt | change to the C:\ and enter the following;    usb_installvfi.msi INSTALL_PP=1

For it to work with RMS, change the settings in Device Manager to 1200 baud, 7 data bits, 1 stop, even parity and we turn off the FIFO on the advanced button.  While there make a note of the COM port. You can change it there too.

Next, go to Start | Programs | Microsoft Dynamics RMS | Configure OPOs ... | drop down to the pinpad | New | give it a name that you'll remember (we just use pinpad ourselves) | change the com port use you decided to use in Device Manager | OK

Next click the Test button | (I don't have one attached so this is from memory) click begin EFT and you should see Ready on the pin pad's screen | click the next button and you should see "Enter Pin" | select the finish button and the pinpad screen will go blank or maybe it says offline

Last step, go into Manager | Database | Register | Register List | select the register you just set up | select the PinPad tab | select Pinpad is enabled and enter the pinpad name you were to remember | OK

Set up your Debit Tender and away you go.

Thank you Jeff, I am going to try this PIN Pad again with your instructions. To confirm though, we are speaking of the USB version of the PIN Pad, with no power cable or other cables, connecting directly to the POS and operational under RMS?  You have made this PIN Pad work in this configuration?

    Thank you again.

    Yep, lots of them.

Look at the serial nuber on the back, it should read P003-190-xxx, make sure they are injected with your processor's code, there should be a sticker on it.

Therein could be the issue:  Mine say P003-180-02-USB which were supposedly the supported units.

    Oh, the Joy

Hmm, I don't remember the 180 as a USB model, only serial.  Maybe its for a plug into a terminal version.

But try it with the instructions. It only takes 5 minutes.

I have also been trying to get my Verifone 1000se pinpad hooked up. I've followed all the steps in when adding a pinpad to the OPOS Service Objects but when I get to "enter the PIN" I have no idea what to enter. I enter random numbers and it seems to be processing but it never stops processing. I'll click "Close" and go back to Test and all of my changes (Merchant ID, etc.) haven't saved. Any advice?

Elsewhere I've read about using the device manager to configure the COMx ports so there's a Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port option but I can't get that to work. I have that option on my other RMS lane but can't get it working on lane #2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Do I need a power supply for USB Pinpad 1000se?
