Opening Balances

I have to make Fixed Assets module live. Can anyone suggest how the opening Balances should be uploaded in BC? Should we make a opening Account (Equity) to ensure proper posting of all GL balances.

    Opening Balances
    If you are importing an existing fixed asset, you can turn off G/L Integration in your depreciation book, load your opening balance, and run the depreciation on the FA Journal. Once all the values are in, turn back on the G/L Integration.

    Unless these are brand new assets you're buying your G/L will already contain the balances for these assets. So you don't load anything to the G/L. To start using the fixed asset module you just need to load the balances to the fixed asset module only. You'd load the same balances that you have in the G/L to the fixed asset module. To do this, in the depreciation book turn off G/L integration, and then use the Fixed Asset Journal to post the acquisition cost to each fixed asset card.
