Query Builder Error: The specificed record type does not exist in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

Hello, I'm getting the following error after deploying code to an upper environment: Query Builder Error: The specificed record type does not exist in Microsoft Dynamics CRM When I download the log file it points to a new custom entity I created. I queried the upper environment database directly and my custom entity is found. The entity is also available through System > Customizations. What are the next troubleshooting steps I should try?

Can you post your query code?

I am having the same error but mine occurs anytime we try to open a solution.

This happens when you delete any entity that does delete all related business rules/workflow/plugins attached to it. If you do advanced find on entity processes you will see some business rules with postfix [deleted] like below

One way to resolve this problem is contacting microsoft or you can delete this process from database by querying based on entity name but this is not supported.

I am also receiving the same error when trying to publish and export a solution after deleting an entity.

    Hi Chitra,

I think you are right. Since I'm using Dynamics 365 Online (which still has this bug!!!), the only possible solution is to contact Microsoft?

This is very frustrating, mostly being Friday at night (which means I have to wait until Monday).

    Thanks!!

    Hey Alejandro,

Same boat here. Our org just updated to Dynamics 365 over the weekend (Feb 4th, 2017). Whenever we try to use the global search functionality we get the Query Build Error.

I'm going to submit a support ticket.

We have the ticket open with MS. They have done some tracing and they found an attribute is missing, but they still don't know which one. The ticket is in the escalation process :)

I will post here when I know, but, it could be possible that every one has a different attribute missing (or not), so I think creating a MS ticket is still the best choice. At least, this will make re-engineer something that is obviously causing this.

    Good luck!!

    Ale

    Hey Alejandro,

Just an update from my end. The answer I received from MS Support was that it is a known issue/product defect with a fix coming in the upcoming release. No ETA on the update. All they were able to tell me was that they were aware of it and working on a forthcoming fix.

    Best,

    Kyle

I should reiterate though, that the source of this issue for me and my organization was the Global Search. Whenever someone entered a query we'd get the Query Build Error. For this particular issue a fix is forthcoming.

Others may be getting Query Build Error's for different reasons, and if so you should submit a ticket.

This is a bug from the database. Working with Dynamics 365 Online, my only solution was to find a workaround. I created a new solution, filled it with the required components and it worked again. Hope it helps.
