Visualize This View - Workspace selection grayed out

ReportReport
Posted on by 6
Hey all - I have a director at my company trying to share an auto-generated PBI report that he created in Dynamics. When he saves the report, "My Workspace" is the only available option. He can't publish to a different workspace.

1. I confirmed that he does have a Pro license in Power BI.
2. I created, and added him as "Member" to the workspace where I want him to publish the report.

Is there another setting that needs to be enabled in Admin settings somewhere?

Thanks

hi there! i see this post is over a week old & hoping you've resolved by now.
if not, here are a few suggestions:

    • Check Workspace Permissions:
      • Ensure that the director has the necessary permissions in the target workspace. Being a "Member" should generally be sufficient, but double-check the permissions settings in the Power BI Service.
    • Verify Pro License:
      • Confirm that the Pro license is active and correctly assigned to the director's account. Sometimes, license issues can cause restrictions in publishing options.
    • Admin Portal Settings:
      • In the Power BI Admin Portal, check the tenant settings to ensure that there are no restrictions on publishing to different workspaces. Look for settings related to content creation and sharing.
    • Workspace Capacity:
      • Ensure that the target workspace is not at its capacity limit. If the workspace is part of a Premium capacity, verify that there is enough capacity available.
    • Browser Cache:
      • Clear the browser cache and cookies, or try accessing Power BI in a different browser. Sometimes, browser-specific issues can cause elements to be grayed out.
    • Power BI Service Updates:
      • Check for any recent updates or changes in the Power BI Service that might affect workspace selection. Sometimes, new features or updates can cause temporary issues.
