Create custom database in dataverse

Hi ,

I am working with Business central and dataverse, I have a requirement where I want to create a custom database in dataverse for business central where I want to block  only certain tables ,fields for certain employees without affecting the other employees ,is it possible in dataverse? I need to hide sales data.

I am having a problem connecting business central to dataverse. I am not sure if I have a default envrionment in dataverse and want to create other environment which URL should I use as there is only one organization url present in assisted setup under business central which is already used in default environment and as expected its not letting me create another using same url, what should I put in the url if i want to create a different environment  for other business central tenant?

Also, can I access purchase/sales order from business central in dataverse?

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

For the first requirement, you can maybe leave everything standard and use permission sets in MSDyn365BC  so that not everyone can see everything.

You can create a new environment via admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/environments. After the creation of it, it will show the url you can use in your business central tenant in dataverse connection setup.

Last, you need a Dynamics 365 for Sales tenant for synchronizing orders, etc..

    Thanks.

Why do we need sales tenant to synchronize orders between business central and dataverse? Also for the integration between sales and business central do we need another license for dynamics 365 sales?

I restricted the access with permissions only but with that restrictions it blocked their access for way too many things.I just want to block the sales related data nd give them rest other accesses as it is.

    Hello,

First you setup connection to dataverse:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-synchronizing-business-central-and-sales

This does not include synchronization to the other mapping.

Second you setup up connection to Dynamics 365 for Sales and you need a sales tenant for that:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-prepare-dynamics-365-for-sales-for-integration

See section "Standard Sales Entity Mapping for Synchronization".

    Thanks.
