Loyalty card showing extra line under loyalty program

Posted on by 1,066

I have issued a loyalty card(standard Loyalty setup demo data) from POS and when I check the loyalty card in D365 back office it shows an extra line in the Loyalty program with a blank start date:

Please could somebody help with this, as to why an extra line would get created in the loyalty program under the Customer's Loyalty card.

RE: Loyalty card showing extra line under loyalty program

    Hi Vickram,

My explanation here is, that the customer first and foremost belongs to a loyalty program with no start- or end-date-mechanisms.
Only in the second step the card does also belong to a tier that has these date features with "Start" and "End" - and a state that shows which tier is "active":

In the docs site for loyalty (Loyalty overview - Commerce | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs) it is stated, that the tiers are optional:
"[...] Loyalty tiers are optional levels that you can define for your loyalty programs. [...]"
But of course you can only step through the tiers if you belong to the program itself.

So, you can have a loyalty program setup without tiers, which then would have an indefinitely valid program, as you don't have any date-related functions for those programs itself.

Just check the other existing loyalty card 100002 which is enrolled for the "Contoso RUS rewards".
This program does not have any tiers, so the card is only enrolled for the program itself and this enrollment is marked as active:

    I hope this answer helps.
