Error when posting a fixed asset journal correction

Hi,

I am trying to reverse the initial acquisition cost and accumulated depreciation on a fixed asset.

I have created the entries via the "cancel entries" option on the fixed asset which has created the journals in my fixed asset journal.

When I try to post the fixed asset journal, I receive an error saying "The first entry must be an Acquisition Cost for Fixed Asset No"

Does anyone know how I overcome this?

    Pass the revers journal manually via FA Journal.

    The accumulated depreciation line needs to be posted prior to the acquisition line. This is why you have the error message. The system is posting the cancelation of the acquisition line first so you have the error message telling you that you cannot have an asset with accumulated depreciation but no acquisition.

    The reason this is happening is your journal probably has the acquisition line first. To fix, just sort the journal based on a field such as the FA Posting Type, so the depreciation line is first. Anything works as long as you have the depreciation line(s) first in the journal. When a journal is posted the system posts the lines chronologically starting with the first line at the top.
