Smartview is not showing except for power users, why?

Hi,

we recently installed eone add-one application which is Smart-View, as per the guides which we have Smart View secuirities should work as follows:

There are two levels of Security. Firstly you need access to the SmartView screen itself. This needs to be granted through the normal GP task/Role security. Power users will automatically have security access.
The second part of security is access to the data lists. SmartView relies on SmartList Security. If a user has access to a list in SmartList - then they also have access to that list in SmartView.

But our issue that only when I provide the users a power user Role they able to access Smart View  Screen, and even though all the users have access to SmartList, but still they can't access the smartview screen.

Kindly advice me why is this happenning?

    Hi Tamara,

    I've found the same issue configuring security for SmartView as well.  Here is what I did for access to SmartView.  Hope this helps:

    EOne SmartView Security

    To access SmartView in a non ‘sa’ or PowerUser role, a new Security Task and Security Role with need to be created and then assigned to users in GP.

    Creating a Security Task for EOne SmartView:

    Create a Security Task in the system granting access to the SmartView components.  This is accessed from Administration > Setup > System > Security Tasks.

    Product: SmartView

    Type: Windows

    Series: Financial

    Product: SmartView

    Type: Windows

    Series: System

    Product: SmartView

    Type: Windows

    Series: 3rd Party

    Product: SmartView

    Type: Files

    Series: System

    Creating a Security Role for EOne SmartView:

    Create a Security Role in the system granting access to the previously created Security Task.  This is accessed from Administration > Setup > System > Security Roles.

    Granting User Access to EOne SmartView:

    Grant access to the previously created Security Role to users.  This is accessed from Administration > Setup > System > User Security.

    Select each user and their associated companies.  Grant access to the Security Role created for EOne SmartView.

    I have followed the steps exactly as you mentioned, and now all the users are able to view smartview and the issue is resolved.

    Dear Ms. Tamara

    I have reviewed the e-one solutions official site, and found no free compatible version to be implemented  with GP 10, SP4.

    Free downloads on their websites include; SmartView 11.0.41 and SmartView 10.0.41 which are  considered older version for GP 10, SP4.

    Any idea on how to get a free compatible SmartView version? or purchasing is my only available option ?

    Your efforts are highly appreciated.

    It's really very helpful and awesome solution i have ever seen , it was very easy to make it and understand it , i'm looking forward as the same solutions like this from the team or individual person can do more and more resolving issues in GP10 , Best regards to all my friends
