Multi Currency and Consolidation

Trying to consolidate 2 companies with different currencies (USD and GBP with consolidation company being USD).  Consolidation works fine.  We have exchange rates set up in consolidated company, plan to use the local for the rates, and have the rate types set up on each account (closing vs average).  However, the foreign amounts are simply coming over as USD (not being converted).  What am I missing?

I agree, do you have a currency code in the Business Unit for the GBP company? Maybe there is where you can do the currency and not in the GBP company.

Hmm, typically you don't use currency IDs on records for the base currency.  But you are saying you have to do this when using that company in a consolidated company?

Are you recording a currency code on your entries in the GBP company? If there is not currency, there is no conversion. I see this happen because everything in the GBP company if GBP but we need the currency code for consolidation conversion.
