Prevent users from changing user Role

Hi All,

Currently users can change their default role from My Setting --> Role. Is there any way we can prevent users from changing role?

    Hello,

    In profiles you can make the role hidden (Show in Role Explorer). Maybe that this is what you are looking for.

    Thanks for the tip but as I see it this is a global setting and not user specific.  Our requirement is to nominate one or more roles by user, for example:

    USER1 - Accountant, BOOKKEEPER

    USER2-BUSINESS MANAGER

    This does not exist out of the box as far as I know. This probably can be done via coding. Maybe one of the hard core developers in this community can provide a few suggestions that are more helpful.
