Open Drawer without Printing Receipt [RMS2.0 CU5]

Dear All,

How can I open the drawer when every time there is a cash transactions with the receipt printing off. We don't always print the receipt to save some greens. My cash drawer is connected through the STAR TSP100 printer using Windows driver.

Is this possible, if I use OPOS driver instead of Windows? I really would like to use the Windows drivers but OPOS resolves the issue then we could switch.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello Pappu,

RMS actually has a option in Store Operations Manager to ask the cashier if they would like to print any receipts for transactions. You can find this option by using the following pathing in Store Operations Manager.

Database/Register/Register List/(Register 1. Please keep in mind this option is for each individual register.)/Properties/Receipt Printer 1/Receipt Printing/"Print receipts after asking the cashier'.

This should answer your question! However, the cash drawer will continue to open like normal because the OPOS drivers are configured to tell RMS to open the cash drawer.

Also you will notice that within the "Receipt Printer 1 tab you have 2 additional options to select from.

However, in this case because you are wanting to save paper I would only recommend to use the "Print Receipts after asking the cashier" as now a days a lot of customers don't want the receipts because they can just look at there account balances online and see a record of the transactions.

    Hello,

There is also a Ctrl+F9 key in POS that can turn printers off and on. Printers are off and normally, turn on when required and off again for normal use. Asking cashier to decide after every transaction can be annoying if the great majority of transactions are no receipt. Its a matter of educating cashiers.
