    Hello CU09040850-0,

The error message "Upload did not complete within the 65 seconds time limit" along with the information about the maximum file size (350 MB) suggests that the upload process is timing out before your 23 MB PTE extension can be fully uploaded. This could happen even with a stable network connection due to various factors.

Here's a breakdown of potential causes and troubleshooting steps you can take:

    Possible Causes:

    • Server-Side Timeouts: The server you are uploading to might have a relatively short timeout limit (65 seconds in this case) for uploads. Even if your network is stable, a slight delay or processing on the server side could cause the upload to exceed this limit.
    • Network Latency/Fluctuations: While your network might be generally stable, there could be occasional latency spikes or minor fluctuations that prolong the upload time, pushing it beyond the 65-second threshold.
    • Processing on Your Local Machine: Your development environment (VS 25.5) might be doing some processing or pre-upload checks on the PTE file that is taking longer than expected, contributing to the overall upload time.
    • Server Load: The server receiving the upload might be under heavy load, causing it to process incoming data more slowly.
    • Firewall/Proxy Issues: Although less likely with a stable connection, firewalls or proxy servers could be introducing delays in the upload process.
    • PTE File Structure: While 23 MB isn't large, the internal structure or complexity of the PTE file could potentially affect the upload speed.

    •

    Troubleshooting Steps:

    1. Increase the Upload Timeout: This is the most likely solution. You need to look for settings within your development environment (VS 25.5) or the platform you are uploading to that control the upload timeout limit.

      • Visual Studio Settings: Explore the settings related to extensions, deployment, or publishing within Visual Studio. There might be options to configure timeouts for network operations. Search within the VS options for terms like "timeout," "upload timeout," "publish timeout," or "extension upload."
      • Platform-Specific Settings: If you are uploading to a specific online platform (like a Dynamics 365 environment, Power Platform, etc.), check the documentation or administrative settings of that platform for any configurable upload timeout limits. You might need to adjust these settings on the server side.
      • VS Extension Manager: If you are uploading through a VS Extension Manager, look for any configuration options within that tool.

    2. Retry the Upload: Sometimes, a temporary network hiccup can cause a timeout. Try uploading the PTE file again.

    3. Break Down the PTE (If Applicable and Makes Sense): The error message suggests splitting large archives. While a PTE isn't a traditional archive, if the content within the PTE can be logically separated and uploaded in smaller chunks (this is less likely for an extension but worth considering if the platform allows), it might avoid the timeout.

    4. Optimize Your Local Environment:

      • Close unnecessary applications running on your machine to free up resources.
      • Ensure your Visual Studio and related tools are running smoothly.

    5. Check Your Network Connection: While you say it's stable, run a quick speed test to confirm your upload speed. A slow or inconsistent upload speed will exacerbate timeout issues.

    6. Consider Off-Peak Hours: If the server you are uploading to is under heavy load during peak hours, try uploading during off-peak times when the server might be less busy.

    7. Review Platform Documentation: Carefully review the documentation for the platform you are uploading to. It might have specific recommendations or limitations regarding file uploads, including timeout settings.

    8. Contact Platform Support: If you are uploading to a specific platform and cannot find any timeout settings, reach out to their support team. They might be able to adjust the timeout limit for your account or provide specific guidance for uploading extensions.

    9.

Specific to VS 25.5 (Assuming this is a typo and you mean Visual Studio 2022 or a similar recent version):

    • Look within the Visual Studio settings under "Tools" -> "Options". Explore sections related to "Environment," "Web Projects," "Publish," or "Extensions & Updates." You might find network-related timeout settings there.
    • If you are publishing to Azure, check the deployment settings within Visual Studio and on the Azure portal for any timeout configurations.

    •

In summary, the key to resolving this issue is likely to increase the upload timeout limit, either within your development environment or on the server you are uploading to. Since the error message explicitly mentions a 65-second limit, focusing on finding and adjusting this setting should be your priority. If you cannot find such a setting, contacting the support for the platform you are using is the next best step.
