can't allocate order

I have a situation where I go into a sales order and can not allocate an item. The items are from a  sales order as a kit.

Because Order is not allocated so items not taken out of inventory. For example If you try to place a 1 in order window for allocation get error "quantity options can not exceed total item quantity please enter a new quantity".

The second thing that is happening, and I think is related, is that  AR is able to invoice even though order has not been able to be fulfilled.  But they should not be able to.

Thanks for any information.

Bill

I have had this issue before, my problem was caused by a shortage from one of the item that makes up the kit.  Are you using Advance distribution?

Thanks Dennis for responding. I don't use Advanced distribution. A shortage of a kit item should just prevent allocation of all other component items from being allocated; is that right? What was your solution?

    Re: can't allocate order

I understand from reading the manual that:

"If using multiple bins and the Site ID is changed:

    • Previously entered bin information is discarded.

    • The line's quantity fulfilled changes to zero.

    • The allocated quantities are reversed."

Could this be away of tricking the system?

    Bill.

If I understand correctly. You have an item that is a Kitted Item. When you try to allocate the Item you are getting the  error?

    OR

Are you trying to allocate an Item that is part of a kit?

Normally if you are tring to allocate a Kitted Item and any of the Item that makes up the kit has a shortage, you would not be able to Allocate the Item.

You should check each item that makes up the kit to ensure you have the available quantities to sell.
