Sales and Inventory Forecast - Variance too high?

I have been playing about with the sales inventory forecasts to get the to appear on products. However on the products all i am getting is one of the 2 following responses...

  • "Variance too high"
  • "Not enough historical data" (which i get as there must not be many sales on the SKUS)

I followed the setup here which was really helpful - www.inecta.com/dynamics-365-business-central-artificial-intelligence-forecasting

The only thing on this "Variance" i can find is the message near the heading that reads...

"Specifies the range of deviation, plus or minus, that you'll accept in the forecast. Lower percentages represent more accurate forecasts, and are typically between 20 and 40. Forecasts outside the range are considered inaccurate, and do not display."

Anyone got this set up i have played around with the variance from 35% to 40% but not really sure what that actually does? If i set to say 100% would it fill in the info but just not be accurate?

We have just over 12 months worth of data now so was thinking it is something we could get going. Be great if someone could help out

Thanks Steve, just had a quick look through that and looks to have a lot more extensive information in.
