Subcon PO Receipt result in Subcon Part Pick on Work order and RAF of Assembly part

Hi,

I have a scenario, please help to explain if this is possible as a out of box solution.

Assembly part "ASSEMBLY" , to manufacture this part it need Component "COMP" and need to send to vendor for  Subcontract Purpose.

Therefor BOM reads like COMP , OSP(Outside Service).

as Production order is estimated , it creates a PO with Service part OSP linked to Production order.

Warehouse post pick of Component COMP on above Production order and send parts to vendor for further fabrication

Question: when parts arrive back ,need is to minimize warehouse transection .

what is best way/setup , when the OSP part is received on PO, RAF of ASSEMBLY part is completed as part of receipt transection.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Yashpal,

You can close the operation on the route by setting a parameter in production control parameters. In the automatic tab there is a parameter for route consumption (RECEIVE PURCHASE ORDER section). I normally set this to route group and on the route group set Report operation as finished to Yes. You can also post a picking list for material related to this operation - this can be used to consume the raw materials from a virtual subcontract warehouse that were earlier issued to the supplier

On the Journals tab there is a setting for posting report as finished when a route card journal is posted. This will create a RAF when the last operation in the route is complete. Careful with this because if you post a route card on production start this will trigger a RAF and you may get another RAF on operation completed.

I use this set up a lot if I don't want to process my production order but want the service item to drive everything.

    Hope this helps

    Hi John,

Thank you so much for your reply,

I was not able to reply early as I was not able to test process after your suggested changes.

below are my findings after your suggested changes, looks like I am still missing something, would like your suggestion.

when i did Product receipt i got this message as i turned "Show Info" in Automatic Updates

    pastedimage1620027854062v6.png

Message as result of Product receipt.

But when i checked  Production order , Production order still has RAF remaining

    1. OSP component pick was completed as result of receipt

    2. there were two route journals that got created as part of receipt, one posted and one unposted.

Report as finished is still pending

    Hi Yashpal,

    Pleasure to help

I presume from your screen prints of your route there are two operations 10.HAW-KITG and 20.HAW-OSPG and you are posting quantity only. Journal PRDJ011728 has successfully posted operation 20 and completed this operation - this is the last operation in the route so that bit is working.

The RAF parameter creates an automatic Report as finished only on completion of the last operation in the route which in your case is 20. Is the RAF failing because the route operation 10 is not completed? How is the route card for operation 10 created and posted - Is this a RAF default parameter and if so is there a reason why it isn't posting after creation? Check your parameters as I assume this route card is posted on RAF or start up

    John
