Consolidation depreciation by short dimension

Hello,

I have multiple fixed assets that share a short dimension, we will like to run the monthly deprecation and create ONLY one journal. See example below: FA1 monthly depreciation of £100.00, FA2 monthly depreciation of £200.00, FA3 monthly depreciation of £300.00. When running the calculate depreciation process, I would like to have only one depreciation journal for a value of £600.00, is it possible?

Thanks

Alejandra

    Hello Alejandra,
Standard Business Central does not summarize depreciation for multiple fixed assets into one journal line. The Calculate Depreciation batch job creates lines in the FA G/L Journal per asset/depreciation posting, so even if FA1, FA2, and FA3 share the same shortcut dimension, BC will normally create separate journal lines, not one combined £600 line. If you want one summarized line, that would usually need customization or a separate process outside standard FA depreciation. Keeping separate lines is also how BC preserves the audit trail by asset.
