Wildcard searches in account numbers

We are starting to plan out our (six digit) account number structure for conversion to D365 BC, and I had a question about how wildcards can be used in the search interface.

In BC, can I do any of these kinds of searches to find all account numbers where "3" is the third digit of a six digit number?

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

You can use wildcards when filtering; searches will do a match on what is typed.

If you're looking for a 'wildcard' filter you can use both '?' and '*'

    2* - account that begins with a 2

2?5* - account that begins with a 2, has any character, followed by a 5 and any combination afterwards

2?5?? - account that begins with a 2, has any character, followed by a 5 and any two characters

    * is any and ? is individual.

    Perfect, that's good to hear.

So, in my case this would give me what I need:

    Just adding to Brad's reply.

You can find all info from the following MS docs.
