Hi Experts,
We are looking for best practices in refreshing non-production environments from a production CRM environment and being able to re-apply the customizations.
It would also be great to be able to have a tool that can tell me the differences between the two environments (if at all possible). I come from a development background where I am using version control for all of this and able to do "DIFFS" and "Version TAGs" for the code.
Right now we primarily do the changes in CRM through the user interface in development for entities, views, workflows etc. and when I copy down from production I want to re-apply all these changes automatically since they have not been pushed to the production environment. Should I be exporting the solution and re-importing? Is there another process that is common for this approach that I am not thinking about?
Thanks for your help!

I have the same question (0)Hi Drew,
Check out below article by ScottDurow which explains how to compare customisations of two CRM instances.
How you would retro fit the changes depends on the how different the customisations are. One my colleagues wrote a nice blog post series about his strategy for release management which may be useful to you if there are lot's of changes.
