Better way to extract limited record set than SETFILTER method

Hi All,

I created a page that extracts only some of records from say sales line table using SETFILTER on page open. Since this a permanent filter is there a better way to limit records? users can still undo the filter after page is open? Does this affect performance compared to say using a query with permanent filers ? Example below:

trigger OnOpenPage()

begin

SetFilter("Document Type", 'Order');
