Offline Voids do not settle

I have a customer reporting that while in POS offlne mode, they (1) made a credit card transaction, (2) voided the transaction, (3) reconnected the POS register, (4) sync'd the register to their store database, (5) settled their EDC batch and (6) received a technical error on the void transaction.

They are running version 2.0.0151 on a Windows XP SP3 workstation using SQL Express 2005 on the register.  I searched hot fixes and this forum and did not see any reference to this issue.

Any ideas?

    Hello Rick,

Have you had issues when trying to settle voids from offline batches other than this one time?

It is possible that this was simply a glitch; and hopefully the bank/processor was able to resolve the issue.

NOTE: You may want to consider upgrading to build 2.0.0155 at a minimum as this contains PCI validation and a fix around voids:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../20sphf-v2.htm

"Authorization Reversal – When a cardholder decides not to continue with a transaction or when a cashier voids a card transaction that has not yet settled, the authorization is reversed instead of returned. This removes the authorization and restores the available balance on the customer's card."

    Hopefully this helps.

    Todd,

The customer is a transfer to me.  They have the problem described above every time they do a VOID.  They are a winery and do many off-site events.  They also are not current on their BRAP/BREP.  Is there a policy to provide them with bug fixes up to the next service pack to correct problems like this?

    Thanks

    Rich

    Hello Rich,

I believe they would need to be on a support plan in order to receive any hotfixes, service packs or feature packs.

If you have any questions please contact Sales Operations at 1-800-456-0025.
