Hello,
is it ever possible to automate the creation of drop ship orders from a 3rd party portal or web application? It is the creation of the link SO/PO I’d imagine is somewhat problematic.

Yes, it's possible to automate drop ship order creation from a 3rd party portal using Business Central’s APIs or via Power Automate. The key part is to:

1. Create a Sales Order with the "Drop Shipment" field set to true on the lines.

2. Then programmatically create the linked Purchase Order using the standard drop shipment flow.

3. Use the Drop Shipment Linking API or call codeunits like PurchOrderLine-Reserve to create the SO/PO link.

The linking isn’t automatic via API by default, so you’ll likely need custom logic or an extension to handle the connection between the Sales and Purchase Order lines.
