Scan GS1 barcodes

Hi,
 
I have a customer who uses tasklet scanners to enter the item references of the items in to the item card.
So far so good, if my GS1 barcode is (01)08411500115453(15)240800(10)31C392, the scanner (Honeywell) reads the proper barcode: 08411500115453.
But they also have /dummy/ scanners for their shop, the PowerScan PM9600 with keyboard (Datalogic), when they try to scan the barcode they get the long version, but Business Central does not recongnize this one: 0108411500115453152408001031C392
 
 
I have asked serveral times to help me with this to the supplier, but they can not help me to converse these codes.
 
Has anybody faced the same problem?
How can I fix this or what can I do?
 
My customers items are getting more and more of these GS1 barcodes.

    It is important to understand why "0108411500115453152408001031C392" is not readable by Business Central, I suggest find the reason if you haven't already. According to me, this string seems way too long for it to be any unique identifier. BC has a character limit of 20 characters for item codes. Also, where are you scanning it in BC, in which page? Are you using an extension? There are probably more questions to the problem you've raised than answers. I suggest get together with an experienced developer and sort it out

    so if you using Honeywell scanner then only received 08411500115453 this is because they already filter the data …
     
    look for a scanner that can filter for you or add a software as median to filter the code.

    the actual barcode is not just a string called: 0108411500115453152408001031C392
     
    GS-1 barcodes use 'logical separators' called Application Identifiers... in order to store more in a barcode, than just an item reference.
    This is the list:
     
    Applied to you situation:
     
    (01) 08411500115453   (AI 01 :  GTIN code of the item: this should be known in your system as the item Barcode 
    (15) 240800                  (AI 15 : Best before date)
    (10) 31C392                  (AI 10 : Batch numer)
     
     
    Basically: if your scanner does not know how to handle GS1 Application Identifiers (split string into chewable chunks, and process the chunks accordingly), the scanner will not be able to process the barcode appropriately

    Hii Everyone ,
    I just got the references from MVP for this situation . for that you need to go through a long process which has the reference in below link , You can split the string and get the data as per requirements.
