How to automatically release products?

I am working in the Product Information Management module and I am trying to import data into the Released Products v2 entity.

I am able to import Item Groups, Item Model Groups, and Product V2 entities no problem.

When I try to import released products, if they haven't already been released to the legal entity the data doesn't import at all.

To get around this I manually have to go products v2 entity list and release the item numbers I want to a legal entity. After I do this I can run data import and import the fields I want my released products to have and it seems to work without issue.

Is there a way to do this automatically do I can just import released products via Data Import Export? Would like to avoid this manual step of released the products. Is there another way to do it programmatically via x++?

Hello tayapr,

You have to add the Product number column in the "Released products V2" excel sheet.

Fill the item number in the "Item number" column and then fill related product number for that item in the "Product number" column and upload the data (with other relevant details in the released products V2 sheet).

Just follow below steps and hopefully you will be able to fix this issue.

--- First; download both "Products V2" and "Released products V2" excel sheets from Data management (in D365) / Data export import framework (AX 2012).

--- Then; upload the "Products V2" data first. This is only for uploading the products.

--- Then; upload the "Released products V2" data. Here you are linking the items with related products as I mentioned.

Once the upload is done, go to Released products form in system and you will find the item with related product number.

No need to put manual effort if you are uploading items using data export import framework

Was able to get it to work! I though that was exactly what I had done before but it wasn't updating.

Thank you! Do you know if there is a way to couple this process in the UI as well? aka not via data import/export?

on can create products first which is for all organizations and then create release of the products by selecting products and it's variants and legal entities to release. While this process of release could be executed in batch, selection of products, variants and LE is a manual activity
