Business Process Flows visible to Users with no permissions

Hi There,

Users that don't have any permissions on Business Process Flows can still view these is appears.  in our specific issue, we are importing Leads into the system, the user who does the import has Permissions for the Business Process Flow.  when these Leads are assigned to other users, they can see the Business Process Flow, even if they have no permissions at all for it.

Does anyone know if this is normal Dynamics functionality?

thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

    Hi,

    this is not normal

What you can try to do?

    1. Check is the user under any teams?

    - if yes, check the security role that assigned to the team.

record shared to user 2 , and user 2 doesnt have read privilege to bpf

As Wei Jie Fun said, make sure user who is able to see the BPF is in any team, if yes check that security role which is assign to team.

Hi Tom, thanks for the reply.  I've seen that thread before and it relates to dynamics 2013.  i might be wrong but i believe dynamics 365 handles business process flows different via security roles now.  if you can remove all permissions for Lead to Opp business process flow in a security role i would not expect a user to be able to see it if they were only assigned this security role

Hi Fun Wei Jie, thanks for the reply, the teams don't have any security roles assigned at present

    Hi,

can you provide the screen shot for the security role and the team?

i've created a new user who isn't in a team with only 1 security role assigned with permissions as below.

when I create a Lead Record the share it with this user they can see the Business Process Flow.

    Hi smcconnell,

It is because you are sharing the record with the read permission, that way user who is not having BPF security role is able to see that.

If you find it helpful, Please mark it as Verified.

Assign and share are two different thing, in you post you have mention that when you "when these Leads are assigned to other users "

Assgning mean : when record is assigned the owner of the lead gets change

share means the owner will be the same but that record will get access by team or users.

If you are sharing the recrod which read permission then to who you are sharing will be able to see the lead as well as BPF.

    Best Regards,

    Shahbaaz
