Does anyone have any insights on allowing sales staff to create sales credit memos when one of
their customers requests a refund or a merchandise credit?
Usually this would be done by accounting department and not customer sales but this is a business decision to be made by the right person(s).

I would recommend the Sales Staff might create the Sales Return Order or Sales Credit Memo but Accounting process and Post the document. You could use Approval Workflow to authorize the Return/Credit from Accounting or Manager as an alternative.

Hi, as ew9800 said, this should be done by the accounting department and not customer sales.
But sometimes the accounting department doesn't know the details of Credit Memo. I think it can be created by sales department and then the accounting department post the credit memos.
